The Seige
A move which almost guarantees a quick end to the game, the seige is one of the most dramatic combos in Chez. This is another true transformation.
Normal Use
It seems almost strange to title this "normal use", because uses of the seige are typically extremely rare. Even experienced players may forget this combo exists at all.
- As you play a revolution, you may extend it. If you can extend the revolution such that it forms a complete run from an ace to a king, you may choose to play this as the seige.
- Instead of playing this onto the pile as normal, make some room around the pile.
- Play the cards in a circle around the discard pile, such that they form the "castle walls".
- Take all but the top card from the primary discard pile, and all of the cards from the secondary discard pile, and combine these with the draw pile.
- Ensure the top card of the primary discard pile is face-up in the middle of the circle. This is the card play will continue from. Nothing else should be in this circle.
- Now, pick up the draw pile and place it in your hand. These cards are now yours.
- We now enter a state of revolt as with the revolution, with a few notable exceptions:
- There is now no draw pile and never again will be. Do not reshuffle played cards into a draw pile for the rest of the game.
- If anyone needs to pick up cards for any reason, including jokers, they are killed, i.e., out of the game.
- If the player of the seige is killed, the seige, and game, is over. The instigator is the sole loser and the rest of the players are equal winners. If any players exited the game prior to the seige starting, they place as normal except that the instigator of the seige takes last place, and any other seige survivors (and victims!) take joint first.
Doubling Up
No, you cannot double, triple, or quadruple-play a seige.
